Unconsciously, the IM Motors brand has been established for about three years, during which it has brought us three very representative models, the LS6, LS7, and L7, as well as many memorable events for netizens, such as technology, performance handling, and intelligent driving performance. Recently, IM Motors has launched a new model, the "IM L6." Today, let's take a look at how this car performs.

Many netizens have said that the IM L6 looks like a flattened LS6, which indirectly indicates that the brand's consistency in design is gradually being established, and the family style is very unified. As a sports-oriented coupe, it is inevitable that the IM L6 has a strong diving effect on the front, with the lines of the front hood accompanying the direction of the headlights, making the upper part of the car look very harmonious, without any sense of conflict, and the low saturation yellow body color is also very youthful.

On the side of the car, the characteristics of the Coupe are even more evident, with a lowered front, streamlined fastback, and raised rear lines, among many others. The dimensions of the IM L6 are 4931/1960/1474mm in length/width/height, with a wheelbase of 2950mm, which is quite advantageous in the mid-size sedan segment. When it comes to size, it's hard not to compare it with IM's first car, the L7. Both in visual perception and data performance, the L6 is more approachable.

The rear features an elegant small ducktail design, and when the taillights are on, the sexiness index soars. The innovative application of the hatchback trunk door greatly enhances the practicality and loading capacity of the trunk, and the electric opening and closing function brings convenience to daily use. In terms of body color, the IM L6 offers seven exterior color options, including a collaboration limited edition color, to meet consumers' personalized needs.

The interior continues the family-style full-frame digital cockpit, combining simplicity with a sense of technology. The center console consists of a 26.3-inch continuous screen and a 10.5-inch touch screen. In terms of details, compared to the IM LS6, the air vents of the IM L6 adopt a more flattened design. The interior currently only announces two colors, which are also the most common light and dark colors in new energy vehicle models—light color "White Showroom," also known as Verano Nano, and dark gray "Gray Prelude," also known as Etna Gray, giving an overall visual impression of simplicity and luxury. The semi-rim steering wheel also appears as an optional configuration on this model, increasing the flexibility of driving. In addition, the Zhiji L6 is also equipped with a wireless charging panel with ventilation function, providing convenience for daily use.

The interior of the Zhiji L6 continues to adopt the POPO cloud touch seats, and the expansion dock magnetic suction disc behind the seat back will also be retained. The rear is equipped with one Type-C charging port, ensuring headroom through the panoramic skylight design, and the rear seats support a 4/6 ratio recline. With a wheelbase of 2950mm, it offers a good legroom, making it perfect for daily home use.

According to the official introduction, this Zhiji L6 is equipped with many "firsts", such as the industry's first use of the Unity rendering engine for full desktop-level application, the industry's first IMAX-level cinema ceremony/AAA game visual effects, the industry's first OMR light chasing rendering model, and the industry's first MR master transition motion effects, which directly enhance the sense of technology atmosphere. In terms of power, the IM L6 will offer both single and dual-motor versions. The single-motor version has a maximum power output of 216kW, while the dual-motor version boasts maximum power outputs of 200kW and 379kW, achieving a 0-100km/h acceleration that places it in the 2-second club. The vehicle will be available with 90kWh and 100kWh battery capacities, providing a range of 700/720/750/770km respectively. Additionally, the official announcement states that the car will be one of the first to feature solid-state batteries, with a CLTC pure electric range expected to exceed 1000km.

Upon starting the vehicle, the moment the central control screen lights up feels like opening the door to a new world. A single press of the accelerator pedal reveals that the 216kW power response of the single-motor version is indeed swift, with the sensation of being pushed back coming instantly. If you opt for the dual-motor version, the 379kW power will give you a taste of what it's like to fly close to the ground, with a 0-100km/h acceleration that's undeniably exhilarating! Moreover, the noise insulation of the IM L6 is truly commendable, with almost no wind or tire noise from outside being audible, which is a great feature!

Furthermore, the Lizard Digital Chassis of the IM L6 lives up to its reputation. The control of body roll during cornering is just right, and the combination of air suspension and intelligent electronic control dampers ensures that even on rough roads, the shock absorption is top-notch, making it highly suitable for family use.

There's also a black technology feature, which is the car's ability to "crab walk," professionally known as counter steering functionality. This technology allows the rear wheels to steer at an opposite angle to the front wheels, effectively reducing oversteering at low speeds and enhancing the vehicle's agility and handling. When turning on narrow roads, this feature can significantly reduce the turning radius, allowing turns that previously required multiple adjustments of the steering wheel to be completed with a single action. This is especially beneficial for mid to large-sized vehicles with longer wheelbases, as it greatly improves driving flexibility and convenience.

Additionally, the IM L6 is equipped with what is claimed to be millimeter-level all-terrain electronic controlled damping suspension plus closed air springs. The closed air suspension can maintain a consistent speed after continuous adjustments. The CDC intelligent electronic control damping system has a response time of 10ms, with a damping variation range of up to 5 times. For users, this will result in a more solid feeling of the chassis and superior isolation from bumps.Overall, advanced driver assistance systems make driving more relaxed and safe, while smart connectivity features fill every journey with fun and surprises. Whether it's autonomous driving on the highway or intelligent obstacle avoidance in complex road conditions, the Zhiji L6 demonstrates its exceptional technological capabilities.

In summary: Through this initial experience with the Zhiji L6, we are pleased to see that this domestic new force brand, established for just over three years, has already been able to produce such a mature and impressive new model. From its exterior design to its interior configuration, the Zhiji L6 adheres to the brand's tone while incorporating a multitude of technological updates, making this vehicle arguably the most cost-effective product in the brand's lineup. This also raises our expectations for what the upcoming road test will reveal. By the way, the Zhiji L6 will officially go on sale on May 13th, so keep an eye out for the pricing details after its launch!
